Snake Farms - Bangkok, demonstrations 11am & 2:30pm M-F, 11am weekends & holidays...located sort of on the corner of Rama IV rd and Henri Dunant rd. admission was 70B last time I visited ... There is another smaller snake farm in the Thonburi area. I got to it by boat so not sure on directions. Interesting to see if you have never been to a snake show.

Forensic Museum - Bangkok, located inside a hospital across the river. Free to get in. Not for the squeamish. 9-3pm open M-F. Museum of Forensic Medicine

Asia Hotel Bangkok - Upper mid range place. Many floors with lots of rooms. Nice roof top pool. Restaurants are quite expensive for Bangkok. Breakfast Buffet is way overpriced if it doesn't come with your room. Skytrain stop is accessable directly from the hotel. Price paid $58US for triple. No breakfast included. Room was clean.

Ayuthaya Thailand
WiangFa Hotel - I always end up staying here when in Ayuthaya. Small place with about 20 rooms. Small rooms but clean with HW, AC, fridge w/free water and cable tv. Really nice staff. You can get a few small breakfast items served in the small garden area in the morning. They have 1 computer for internet in the office you can use. $12 per night for triple. 1/8 Rochana Road Tel: 241353

Chiang Mai
Lai Thai Guesthouse - This place was really not what I expected. 111/4-5 Kotchasarn Rd.

Good location that allows you to explore the old city area easily as well as the night bazaar. Clean pool with kitchen service available. Room was a bit dingy. HW, AC, cable tv was about it. No frills. Cost was low $15 for double room. Ok restaurant downstairs. Internet down the street. Other lodgers can be loud when coming in late at night and the walls are very thin. website

Surin
Niddiew Sangthong Hotel - hw, tv, ac, 320B. Good location near night market, bus station and Surin Sq. Hotel is a bit old.

Phimai
Phimai Inn - A bit further away from the ruins than the other one Phimai Guesthouse. This one is clean with modern rooms and ammenities. Great deal at $12 per night. Good curries are served here. Nice pool. Not much else around to do except visit Phimai Historical Park. Getting transport from here can be difficult. Ask the staff for help.
